WebQuest

Hi everyone! I hope everyone had an okay time completing the WebQuest assignment. My one complaint about Zunal.com is the "Evaluation Page". I did not want to set up my rubric for the assignment I chose in the same format that Zunal.com picked for me. Did anyone else have this problem? Dr. Parlo said many people wished that this page had more flexibility for teachers. Does anyone agree?
Have a good Tuesday!

  1. I had the same issue. You could always give the kids a paper copy of your rubric...but would be a lot easier if it were all in one place. You could always copy and paste your rubric, but I do agree that the format is a little rough.

  2. I modified their rubiric to resemble the real one I give the kids. I put that one as an attachement on the ohter page.

  3. I didn't think it gave much flexibility either. I also added my rubric on the attachments page and just made a modified one on the evaluation page. I did think it was really easy to use and have recommended to other teachers I know. They have found it to be easy to use as well.

  4. I liked that the zunal website was easy to use. As a matter of fact, I thought it was a lot easier to use than dreamweaver since it could be completed online and you didn't have to upload the individual pages themselves. I also liked that you didn't have to spend all your time trying to make sure all the links on the navigation bar went to the correct pages and everything (I spent a lot of time on this for my eportfolio).

However, I also see that is a very limited template in that you can't add any extra pages to the navigation bar on the side and you only had one template to choose from. With only one template available, everyone's webquest tends to look the same. Each teacher has a unique way of thinking and designs their lessons differently for the classroom. More options should be provided to allow for individual personalizations on the webquest lesson.
