I found this site ...if you sign up you can get an experiment of the week...some could be used as discrepant events. Check out his video on boiling water..I never thought about explaining boiling water this way!

ReplyDeleteThis week we were discussing adhesion and cohesion. After the lecture, I could tell that some student still did not understand the concept. So I looked up some discrepant events and found one for each concept. I used them in a review group and it really reinforced the concept. I am certainly going to try to integrate these events into my class!
